Yah separated good from evil, clean from unclean, and the people of Israel from the surrounding nations.

Shalom, and happy morning to you. There is a false idea still being held by many in this world, and that is that Yah loves and accepts everyone just as they are. But too often do we read of his hatred for evil, and his warnings and commands to the people of Israel to not be like the heathen nations around them. In truth, Yah is a separator; he divides and arranges things, animals and people into separate and distinct groups, and he expects us to live according to that established order. Beginning with the book of Genesis and working our way through the prophets, we see that Yah separated light from darkness, day from night, good from evil, clean from unclean, and the people of Israel from the surrounding nations.
With this in mind, we know that darkness cannot exist with light, nor night with day, nor the heathen with his chosen and set apart people, otherwise one would taint the other. That is why we are commanded as follows:
25 You shall therefore separate the clean beast from the unclean, and the unclean bird from the clean. You shall not make yourselves detestable by beast or by bird or by anything with which the ground crawls, which I have set apart for you to hold unclean. 26 You shall be pure to me, for I Yah am pure and have separated you from the peoples, that you should be mine.
