Yeshua was staying at Simon and Andrew’s home, and he was healing many people of the town who were sick with various diseases and casting out many demons the prior evening. But before daybreak the next morning, Yeshua got up and went out to an isolated place to pray.
Later, Simon and the others went out searching for him. When they finally found him, they said to Yeshua, “Everyone is looking for you.” But Yeshua replied, “We must go on to other towns as well, and I will preach to them too. That is why I came.”
So, he traveled throughout the many different towns in the region of Galilee, preaching in the synagogues and casting out demons.
One day, as he was preaching the Good News, healing the sick, and casting out demons, a Hebrew man approached him who had leprosy. In desperation he fell to his knees in front of Yeshua, crying and begging to be healed!
“If you are willing, you can heal me and make me clean,” the Hebrew man said.
Moved with compassion, Yeshua reached out and touched him. “I am willing,” he said. “Be healed!”
Instantly, the leprosy disappeared, and the man was healed. Then Yeshua sent him on his way with a stern warning: “Don’t tell anyone about this. Instead, go to the priest and let him examine you. Take along the offering required in the law of Moses for those who have been healed of leprosy. This will be a public testimony that you have been cleansed.”
But the man paid no attention to what Yeshua commanded, and as soon as Yeshua turned his back, he began to show and explain to all his neighbors, friends, and even strangers in the town, how Yeshua had healed him. As a result, large crowds soon surrounded Yeshua, and he couldn’t publicly enter a town anywhere. He had to stay in secluded places, but people from everywhere kept coming to him.
As Yeshua continued toward Jerusalem, he reached the border between Galilee and Samaria. When he entered a village there, ten men with leprosy stood at a distance. Once they recognize him, they cried out, “Yeshua, Master, have mercy on us!”
As he came near them, he could see that all of them were cursed with leprosy, so he said to them, “Go show yourselves to the priest.” And as they went, they were cleansed of their leprosy.
One of the men, who was a Samaritan, realized that the curse had been lifted and he was clean once again. He returned to Yeshua shouting, “Praise Elohim!” and he fell on the dusty ground at Yeshua’s feet thanking him for what he had done.
Yeshua asked, “Didn’t I heal ten men? Where are the other nine? Has no one returned to give glory to Elohim except this foreigner?”
Then Yeshua said to the Samaritan, “Stand up and go. Your faith has healed you.”
From the touch of his hands to the sound of his voice, Yeshua has the ability to heal. He eagerly shows us compassion and desires to heal us all, Hebrews and Gentiles alike. Will you show forth obedience to his commands once he has heard your cry for healing? Will you remember to be grateful in praising Yah our Elohim?
